A designer, a writer, a witness.

I am Sophia Goehner. I design, I draw, I photograph, I write — and I find these are all the same act, repeated in different materials. Each one is a way of paying attention.

My work lives at the seam between the visual and the verbal: editorial systems, considered brand identities, slow photographs of fast cities, and essays that take their time.

I keep a working studio that moves between New York and Europe. I teach when I can, write when I must, and travel often enough to stay curious.
